How to Password Protect / Encrypt a Flash drive

Encrypting or password-protecting a flash drive keeps your sensitive data secure, preventing unauthorized access if the drive is lost or stolen. This ensures personal, financial, or confidential information remains protected from theft or breaches. 


To do this, first you will need to connect your device to your computer. 


Once plugged in, please select the yellow folder icon at the bottom of your screen.

Now select, "This PC" on the left hand column.

You will then see two drives, the flash drive will typically be labeled as (D:), and should say USB Drive by name as shown below.

Next, mouse over the drive and right-click, then select "Show more options", you will then select "Turn on Bitlocker"

Next, select "Use a password to unlock the drive" set your password, and then continue on with the prompts until completion. 

Your drive should now be password protected!
